Metromix is Growing! Metromix is an established entertainment, dining, events & nightlife web guide with local perspective currently in 16 markets across the US. Targeting the 18-34 demographic, Metromix plans to expand its local offerings to 45 markets in 2008.

To accomplish our business goals, we use Ruby on Rails to build a robust and highly configurable content delivery and management platform. We are seeking entry-level developer, preferably with Ruby on Rails knowledge, to help us configure & enhance our platform for more local market deployments and create more compelling features and capabilities of our publishing system. Historically we’ve found candidates with experiences similar to items listed below are successful in our interviewing process and as successful team members:

· Knowledge of building dynamic websites and understanding of the MVC pattern as applied to the web with interest to build Rails apps.

· Knowledge of relational databases concepts (MySQL, Oracle), schema design, implementation and SQL.

· Experience with XML, CSS, JavaScript/AJAX/JSON, HTTP, and Web Services.

· Open-source software experience/knowledge a plus

· Bachelors degree in Computer Science (or a related field) or prior work experience that is applicable to the position.

· Experience working in Unix environments (Mac OS X, Linux) while also comfortable verifying your work in Windows clients

· A personal demeanor allowing you to interact effectively with other team members, management and clients. Must have excellent verbal/written communications skills, as there is a high degree of interaction.

· Requires a customer support orientation and competence in response to vendors and staff during system implementation and problem resolution.

We are an open source shop seeking a sharp, reliable PHP programmer to develop highly interactive websites for our clients.

We are looking for programmers who have experience with constituent relationship management, content management systems (custom developed or customized), e-newsletters that target specific constituencies, fundraising tools, and online communities/forums. Our sites tend to be heavy on interactivity and our clients often require integration between the website and third-party web applications or other software.

You should know PHP, HTML, CSS, MySQL, AJAX. Experience with Drupal, other open source CMSs, or development frameworks like Cake a big plus. Experience integrating web applications with Salesforce is ideal.
